Happy Traum


Renowned folk singer, writer, teacher, recording artist and first-rate fingerstyle player, Happy Traum began playing guitar and 5-string banjo as a teenager.He was an important participant in the legendary Greenwich Village folk scene of the 1950s and ‘60s.

Happy has played throughout the U.S. and internationally both solo and in the past with his late brother, Artie. Happy has appeared and/or recorded with many music legends including Bob Dylan, Levon Helm, John Sebastian, Eric Andersen along with other major figures in the folk music world.

His latest CD is “Just For the Love of It.”

Welcome to the BFMC website!

The Borderline Folk Music Club is the only
not-for-profit venue in Rockland County
that presents acoustic Roots Music including Folk & Bluegrass.

In addition to Rockland we have members from the metropolitan area and beyond who regularly attend our concerts. Our shows are presented in a relaxed, warm, & friendly, alcohol-free atmosphere; in small and intimate venues. We schedule several concerts a year plus an annual summer picnic in August.
