Toward morning
he went out to them, walking on the sea. And the disciples saw him
walking on the sea, and they were terrified and said, "It is a ghos!"
And they screamed with fear. But Jesus immediately spoke to them and
said, "Take courage! It is I."
(Matthew 14:25-27)

When Christ comes to
the disciples
walking on the
water,
they first see a
vague form
whom they do not
recognize.
It is only
when they look
again,
more carefully,
that they make out
the form of Christ.
We too must
look again at our
neighbor,
and when we do
we will see
not a vague person
but Christ.
