For I tell you, if you have faith the size of a grain of mustard, you can say to this mountain, "Move from here over to there!" and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.

(Matthew 17:20)

Once there lived a young man
of brilliant mind and noble spirit
who cherished one, single desire:
to know the secret of achievement and success in human life.

For years he
pondered and prayed over this
until one night,
in a dream,
a hoary old sage came to him
bearing the answer to the secret
He said,
simply,
"Stretch out you hand and
reach what you can."
But the young man,
gravely disappointed, said:
"No, it cannot be that,
it must be
something harder; something
more satisfying to the human spirit."

The old man replied softly,
"You are right, it is something
harder. It is this:
Stretch out your hand and
reach what you cannot!"

The Christian soul is like that.
It goes through life
stretching out its hand for
what is beyond its reach.
It dreams of living beyond death,
it dreams of living happy forever,
it dreams of possessing God.

But
humanly speaking
all this would be impossible;
but then comes Christ
and makes the impossible, possible.

He says,
I have come that you
may have life, and may have it
more abundantly.

I am
the Resurrection and the Life.

I am the way to God."
